  • Press release

Martin van Zomeren is proud to present 'ART GAME DANNY VAPID', the first solo show of Juliaan Andeweg at the gallery. Juliaan is de youngest artist of the gallery and he accosts art and life embracing all their complexity. The works in the exhibition act as personal mirrors of a -many sided reality and the visitor will be confronted with an almost schizophrenic stream of consciousness where sexy women, goldfishes, Star Wars, country music, childhood traumas, memes, alchemy, inner fears all come together.

The artist privileges low materials which are typical of a working class environment. Reflecting a fast changing world, the works are made as quickly as possible and they follow and they follow a fast drying process where the materials change from liquid to solid in a short time span. The process is always fluent end effortless and therefore the works are of utmost authenticity.
